PORCELAIN TILE VS CERAMIC TILE Photo

PORCELAIN TILE VS CERAMIC TILE

While porcelain and ceramic tiles are made using a similar firing process, they differ in one significant way: The clay used in porcelain tile is more highly refined and purified, resulting in a denser tile with a lower absorption rate, making it stronger and more durable when exposed to heavy use or harsh elements. For interior applications such as countertops, backsplashes, vanities and flooring, either types of tile will work. Porcelain tiles can be used for all of the interior uses that ceramic tile can, and can also better withstand the extremes of temperature and humidity common to exterior applications.
